Founded in the late 19th century by Francis A. Delgado, Antigo developed as the economic seat of Langlade County. Fueled by dense timberland and rich agricultural soils, Antigo grew into a major hub for lumber processing and seed potato farming, maintaining a strong heritage preserved at the Langlade County Historical Society Museum.
